This gritty mix helps with the little ones during growing and those you have in breeding. Check out the ingredients and you can see it is loaded with bugs and calcium for those special stages in life.
From Pangea:
Formerly known as Breeding Formula, same great food with a simplified name.
A complete gecko diet, Pangea Gecko Diet Breeding Formula is designed to fulfill the unique requirements of reproductive crested geckos. The main source of fat and protein in this food is from Insects (crickets and black soldier fly larvae) while remaining palatable and well-liked by almost all geckos. The fruits used are a delicious blend of Bananas and Apricots that creates a feeding response similar to our other formulas. The higher fat levels help keep egg production strong throughout the breeding season. The calcium level is near the maximum level for a complete diet. It is safe and sometimes necessary to add a little plain calcium to the food if your females are becoming depleted. Alternatively, you can offer plain calcium in a dish for your females to lick from as needed. For more information on calcium please see our article here. To get the most out of this diet, fresh food should be offered at least every other day during the breeding season even though there will be some waste. Smaller more frequent feedings are more appropriate for breeders than sparse feedings on which they tend to gorge themselves. Live dusted insects are optional but can be offered once or twice a week in place of Pangea Gecko Diet Breeding Formula for variety and to help keep your geckos active and stimulated.
Pangea Gecko Diet Breeding Formula was is ideally suited as a breeder formula but can be fed to geckos of all life stages. As a growth formula we have found that this formula provides optimum growth in juvenile geckos. Crested geckos still grow best with a once or twice a week cricket feeding until about 15 grams at which point live insect feedings can be cut back or eliminated. Other species such as leachianus, auriculatus, and Eurydactylodes grow nicely on this formula from the get-go.
Life Stages: Growth & Breeding (feed at least 4-5 days per week).
Ingredients: Dried Banana, Dried Apricot, Insect Meal, Whey Protein Isolate, Micellar Casein, Calcium Carbonate, Di-Calcium Phosphate, Vegetable Oil, Ground Flaxseed, Algae Meal, Lecithin, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Chloride, Potassium Sorbate, Mixed Tocopherols, Choline Chloride, Ferrous Fumarate, Beta Carotene, Inositol, Niacin, Kelp Meal, Ascorbic Acid, Cholecalciferol (D3), Riboflavin, Thiamine Mononitrate, Vitamin A, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Biotin, Folic Acid, Sulfur, Zinc Oxide, Vitamin B12.
Changes June 2018. TriCalcium Phosphate replaced with Dicalcium Phosphate-different source of same nutrients. Natural Guava flavor accidentally left off new label-being corrected.
NOTES: This mix has more of a tendency to stick to tails and toes. Resolves easily with a rinse or sauna.
Mixing: This is a thicker reptile breeder mix and is usually eaten best when mixed thick like ketchup. 2.5 parts water to 1-part powder.
Generally speaking, most geckos are not going to clean their bowl every time as they may with the lower fat content formulas
